I don't usually buy the Deluxe version but I thought I'd try. This software allows one to create cards or other projects or use existing templates. There are cards for birthdays, holidays, and special days, among other types. If you're a creative-type person you can design your own projects. I stick to the templates because it's not worth spending the time to create a card that won't last very long. As an aside, I did make a couple of cards using velum on the outside of the card and modified an existing card. I received very nice responses from the recipients. Hallmark puts out a great product and I will continue to purchase software each year it comes out. Prong Two: How hard is it to install software. Slip in the disc, run the.exe file, and away you go. Not for me. Installation of this product was nothing short of a nightmare. I uninstalled and re-installed the disc at least 10 times. It takes quite awhile to install, and then you have to download the patch and that takes awhile as well. The first couple of times I was able to print one card each because the program would freeze before I could re-use it. I ended up calling technical support (go to the hallmark software technical support) three times. I made certain that I could clearly and concisely explain what the problem was, what operating system I used, and what I had done on my own to rectify the situation. The first technical support person was reluctant to provide assistance because I had purchased the software through Amazon and was very curt with me. The second person was more professional and sent me a download link that included the patch. I installed, uninstalled it and reinstalled it several more times. During this set of installations I ended up getting an error from my operating system saying that I could not install certain items because I was not the administrator (which I am). I spent part of a day going down a rabbit hole attempting to fix that problem. Finally in frustration I gave up. I was ready to call Hallmark's Customer Service's telephone number (not the one for the software, that's how frustrated I was) the following day. The next day I uninstalled the program and reinstalled the downlink. I anticipated the worst and.everything went smoothly. I spent most of one day making Christmas and birthday cards. I hope to try again within the next day or so to determine if the problem was resolved. I want to get this chore out of the way and quickly. How would I rate the product.
