boss mx10 mixer manualI currently uses two stereo inputs for my synths and - occasionally - a third to a PC, 4 mono and 2 stereo channels available. Although a circuit effects (1 output, 1 stereo return) is proposed, I do not use it, preferring to attack my stereo multi-effects from the output of the mixer to keep the entire stereo synthesizers. It is a simple mixer, given the size of the device, it would have been difficult enough to fit more an equalizer. UTILIZATION Operation is extremely simple and the documentation is far from essential. The presence of a headphone output associated with its own volume control is a plus. SOUNDS This mixer is totally transparent. I did not notice any breath or coloring of the sound on the line inputs. I do not comment on the mic I do not use. OVERALL OPINION It is now 18 months that I use. I chose it for its size and its adaptation to my (small) needs. A final advantage is its price on the used market. No adjustment required in the right format, good sound. The most appreciated feature: format, transparent The least appreciated feature: the power supply not standard - no possible substitution with another. Perhaps the headphone a little low. And yet, it really is to find something to complain about. Now that I try to reprocurer mixers 1U rack max, I almost regret having sold. I am keeping another SRA-50 amplifier that I have hooked up to my computer in my office driving a pair of Alesis Studio One monitors. It will get much louder than my ears (and my neighbors) can handle. I thought I might need to keep the other SRA-50 as a backup, but this one has been running quietly 24 hours a day for a few years. I never turn it off and I just don't think it's going to fail ever. The SRA-50 is one of the best products Roland ever made. Built like a tank. The MX-10 mixer is the same quality. Manuals for these units are still available online. The units are 100 functional 100. There are some cosmetic scratches, etc. The SRA-50 amplifier - no wall wart needed with this piece of gear. Power supply is built-in. Rack shelf for mounting two half rack units. Not included: The carpeted rack case seen in the pictures. Guaranteed to be as described. These could be for sale in other venues, too, so posting could come down suddenly at any time. I will not sell these separately. Good This seller has not set a shipping cost for Russian Federation. For several years I used these in my home (bedroom) studio when I had several keyboards and modules and didn't have a lot of space. I drove them into a pair of passive monitors. They are mounted on a Roland rack shelf made especially for these type half-rack units (included). I no longer have so many keyboards and modules and I now have a larger studio with a larger mixer and larger powered monitors. I will not sell these separately. Please check the fields highlighted in red.Currency. Item has been stored indoors, in a climate controlled environment, and it's condition reflects this. These BOSS PRO SERIES units were made in Japan of good components and were the pinnacle of half rack analog components used for guitar, bass, keyboards, home studio’s, etc. There's a stereo effects loop with separate level and panning controls.http://maxflowfans.com/userfiles/boss-rce-10-manual.xml 8 of the MX-10s 10 channels are line level inputs while channel 9 and 10 are switchable between line level and mic. Harmonic distortion is lower than 0.05. The unit has individual overload indicators on each channel as well as two master overload indicators. There is also a headphone jack with a separate level control.I have no intentions of gouging anyone so if this is the case I’ll only charge for the actual difference. In most cases this will not be an issue. Additional fee for insurance at your option but also keep in mind that I will not be repsonsible for losses if you decline insurance. Monitoring Solution For Rig Also would prefer to use IEM's, even with my compact rig. Rack mixer is a Behringer RX1602: Main Outs to FOH, via DI; Monitor Out to powered, keyboard cabinet (K10); Headphone Out used for wired, IEM connection (vs. Solutions ? ? I have yet to find a half-rack, or smaller, line mixer that will cover the same bases as the RX1602.http://schlammatlas.de/en/node/18130 The Boss MX-10 looks to be a solid solution; but being long discontinued, is apparently quite rare. ?I have a PreSonus FireStudio Mobile; but don't want to have to drag my MacBook to every gig, in case the mix needs to be tweaked (or reprogrammed, if there's an 'accident'). And there would be live adjustments to make, anyway; so the FireStudio Mobile best stays with the computer rig. Also have looked at the various Rolls and ART solutions boxes. ?There are two that might be 'stretched' to be useable as an add-on 'box'; but the workarounds look iffy. They go for about 150ish 2nd hand.I get the band mix for IEMs either stereo or mono into the P4M and send my multi-channel mix out of the MOTU to FOH via Radial Stereo JDI and send to the P4M for IEM. Very compact and elegant. I have pics of the rig somewhere on the forum, let me know if you want me to dig them up for you. The rig has improved a bit since then, but no recent pics. I followed your lead with the vented shelf and long zip ties to mount the Vent and DI more securely. Tony had mentioned the P4M a couple of weeks back. I'd looked into the specs, and filed the idea as a 'maybe' - being that I was still looking for an all-in-one solution. I do have a PSM 200 Wireless system, back from when I used a rack steadily - on the road in '06 and '07. The way I used that system was to run a mono, monitor out from my keyboard mixer to the PT2, along with a mono signal from the band's monitor board. I used the belt pack both behing my rig, and when I 'roamed' with an AX-7. Since selling the keytar, I' ve gone with the simplicity of running the IEM's wired-in - in stereo - via the RX1602 line mixer - when stage space will accomodate a rack. Theoretically, I could still send my MX-28 Main Out to my Radial Pro D2, combine the line-through outs of that with a band monitor mix into a P4M, then send the P4M mix out to my PT2 - making use of the mono belt pack once again. But that puts me back into a rack based system.http://frial.com/images/boss-mx10-mixer-manual.pdf It would be a more practical rig if I still had the keytar. Eric, I wonder if a used, UltraLite 2 would be a good, all-in-one compact solution; i.e. - similar in function to my RX1602 (with even more flexible routing), but able to sit on my bottom keyboard - as the MX-28 does. The UltraLite 3 sounds awesome, except for the price. Would be great if Rolls made an MX-xx that included an aux out with independent channel level control; just like the Boss MX-10 half-rack, which I imagine I'll continue to keep an eye peeled for. Not sure of the output flexibility, but it is very small! I haven't really found anything suitable in a less-than-rack form factor, without going the MOTU direction, and the fiddlyness of programming those things without a computer on hand gives me pause. The approach I'm leaning towards at this point is just using two separate small line mixers (ART PowerMix III or Rolls MX-28). Mixer B is responsible for my ears, with its inputs being the headphone out from Mixer A, a line level monitor feed from FOH or monitor world, and perhaps the transformer-isolated output from a splitter on my vocal mic. I've never done this sort of self-contained IEM situation, but it seems like having an ambient mic of some sort would be more important in a situation where you're the only one on stage using IEMs (to hear tunes being called, get a nice wash of things on-stage that aren't mic'd up in smaller rooms, etc.) I'm also wary of wired IEM situations without any kind of limiter inline, due to feedback, soundguys unpatching things without warning during soundcheck, etc. To solve both of those problems, I've been toying with buying a Zoom H4n as the final link in the chain, and basically just using it as a mixer and headphone amp to blend the Mixer B signal with the onboard mics, apply some limiting, and drive my IEMs. As a side benefit, it'll let me get a recording of my IEM mix so I can have some game film to listen back to.drmarlenebothma.co.za/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f4fc45110d---bosch-wfb-4000-manual-download.pdf Things holding me back - I don't know what its monitoring latency is like, and if the onboard limiter applies to the headphone output or just the recorded signal. Zoom or no, using two mixers is more cabling and another wall wart, but it's the only way I've found to do it without a Ultralite or similar. But after checking out the online manual, I discovered the sends are post-fader - a no-go for the situation. Haven't found a Boss MX-10 manual; that unit could be a no-go too if the aux send is post-fader.Two MX-28's could easily solve the problem. I already have a homemade, rubber-footed plexiglass tray that could be cut slightly to adapt to my bottom keyboard; it would easily hold two MX-28's. The H4n could work as 'mixer B', but I have similar concerns about that. I'd likely go with a second MX-28 in this case. But it sounds like an H4n might, at the very least, be a handy addition to the two mini-mixer rig you're considering. Learn more The story is. I'm in process of setting up a new studio with summing. Not commercial privet place. It was a very sort of primitive and very General Midi file, but. It was so warm and beautifully colored. I was glued to this thing. So to make short story long: As of to day I got two of mx-10's in order to couple them. I didn't plug anything yet, cuz at the moment I just can't. Everything is apart. But my guy did a maintenance on them. Then I started to read manual(how stupid I'm). Where they say mic in impendance 200ohm. Ooops. Does it means I cant really use coupled mx-10s as a summing. Cuz I have line signals from my DA. Or I can modify mic inputs. I mean, 2 line ins by default doesn't give me to much space for maneuvers. (If it's not doable - gonna keep at least one, doesn't matter what) Any ideas, please Thanx.https://ballestermultiservicios.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f4fe1b453c---bosch-wfb-2005-washing-machine-manual.pdfI know of a great mic pre from Danfield of that name, but somehow I don't think that's what you're referring to? Jakob E.Low Z mic in, medium impedance (unbalanced) out. Is this the product being discussed? BriI have used an Altec 1567A. Both Multi-Mic Mixers. Altec has a bass and treble knob, and 4 inputs and 1 output, Ampex has no EQ with 4 in 2 out. Both have line and mic ins. I have used these as Mic Pres mostly. I love them on Drums and Bass. I use the Ampex primarily on Drum Room Mics into a Urei 1176LN. They are pin 3 hot, and usually need a -15db pad in front of them. I think I prefer the Altec over the Ampex as far as the way it reacts to Drums and Bass. As far as summing, I love the Ampex on Hammond B3's, 2 top mics in stereo and 1 bottom mic on the Leslie, 3 mics in 2 out. 100 tube not a transistor in sight. www.bluethumbproductions.com Bob Ohlsson (sorry, Bob, if I misspelled your name) posted a pic here a few months ago of the Motown CR from 1963, there's an MX10 in the rack. I have that pic taped to the rack under the MX10 at Lingo where I do a lot of my work.MX-10s were really designed for ribbons and dynamics. Some condensers, especially Neumanns, needed to be padded up from 50 to 150 Ohms in order to avoid a nasty transformer interaction that made them sound really bright. (The same was true of RCA preamps) They also required a really high impedance load having been designed to drive the unbalanced bridge input of an Ampex 351.It's a lot about summing lately. And my plan was to use nostalgic beautiful mx10s as a back end primary by coupling them together. B3 - 3 mics - mx10 - very classy. I'm thinking what I'm gonna get from the whole mix. Am I gonna be washed all over. What if I need punch somewhere. I mean if this is a good idea in general. Unfotunatily can't try anything now as I said. What would be the best way to decrees that LINE voltage from Apogee or midi. Wich pad just to buy or what modification would U recommend ppl.BARSUGO.COM/ckfinder/userfiles/files/91-yamaha-superjet-manual.pdf Sorry, so many questions. Am I gonna be washed all over. As you know, all you can do is go with your gut in the tracking process and focus on the vision of production for the song being recorded. Sometimes it rears it little head at the half way point and you gotta go with it and change direction. I sometimes record a B3 direct when the organ has that as an option. Sometimes while mixing I ace the lower mic, and only use the two mics in stereo I recorded. I figured the MX 10 on a B3 was a good example of Mic Summing 3 tracks to a stereo track, which has worked for me. I would be willing to bet, all MX 10's don't sound the same either. That being said, your MX 10 might not work at all in this application. www.bluethumbproductions.com I am the proud owner of an Ampex MX-10 that I love the sound of. They do have a high output impedance (designed to drive loads of 100kohm as Bob Ohlsson kindly mentioned) and I'm looking for the best way to help the MX-10 interact with 600ohm rated line inputs etc. SO. the Radial D2 stereo passive DI with transformers seems a good match to me at a glance though I'm not well experienced with using DI's except live. Its input is rated at 100kohm and output at 600ohm, however hook up directions and general talk of DI's seems to be about matching instruments to mic inputs. Was wondering if anyone could help re their suitability for matching a HI Z to a lower Z line input.Simply cuz line switch bypass input amp with all tubes and fat I want in there. As a result Im not using line switch at all. Hope I explained it right. abitI was hoping failing a DI a simple matching transformer might help. But better (2 years) late then never. One MX-10 was sold and 2nd is here and used on basically every mix at a stereo output of Amek BCIII. As you can see my summing is a board witch changed sound a lot in a good way. The board is a magic by itself I think. Plus magic of MX-10 in the end. This combination feels very sweet and truly satisfied to me. I'll also use it it as a mic pre Suggestions? thank youThis way you can sum 4 mono or two stereo line signals or use it as 4 separate mic pres. They work OK into high-z inputs of most converters but you can't drive an LA-2A with them!I have a UAD Apollo 16 Think it work. I only really need stereo in and out and I'll use a couple channels as mic pre's I'm also wondering would I be able to plug in a bass direct (or a drum machine etc) or would it be better to use a DI into one of the mic pre inputs? thanks!Memorials, RIPs and Obituaries Grove Park, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 3LW.Hosted by Nimbus Hosting.
