Bill L. 1.0 out of 5 stars I tried to contact the manufacturer and the seller numerous times over a two day period by phone and email. Both places you get answering machines to leave a message (no live person either place). I left at least 5 messages and sent 3 emails between the two of them. It is now 4 days later and have not heard from either one of them. The BR-80 has a lot to learn and is hard to figure out. A little help with a couple questions would go a long way. If you plan on buying one expect to spend half of your life learning it because you will have ZERO customer service and tech support.I am a professional technologist and I've used several other recorders (usually Tascam) but I just haven't got the patience or time to figure out how to get this thing to record the way I need to and the manual isn't very helpful either, making you constantly skip around and then try to put all the fragmented pieces together. Too late to return it now, or I would. Keeping in my little studio out because of the great rhythm tracks for practicing, but it has not fulfilled my expectations for recording.Sure, you can do most of this with apps on your smartphone for cheaper, but the instrument input jack and built-in microphones make this the perfect all-on-one tool for any musician. It's cheap, powerful, and easy to use. I love this. The built in mics are totally sufficient, sensitive enough to pick up ambient room noise (heater, fan, cars outside, etc.). I've used it for personal multi-tracking and recording a small group. The sound quality is good. It is great for personal use, demos etc.https://travelselection.us/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f4aeca2f15---bosch-washing-machine-vision-500-series-manual.pdf If you want to make an album, you might need to go into a studio. The track download is a little oldschool, but sufficient. It was reasonable to download 8 tracks onto the computer, then open them all as waves in the DAW, and get to work mixing. This is a great tool for composition and reviewing your ideas. Cons: The rhythm download is convoluted, apparently you've got to bounce it down to a track, then import it as a wave. It would have been nice if you could edit your rhythm section within the DAW. The Loop record feature doesn't seem to be entirely functional, in that you have to physically start and stop the loop recorder, which makes it hard to get a well timed loop. Maybe I need a foot pedal for this, I don't know.I was trying to find something that would meet 2 needs; a) to create live stereo recordings of live band shows etc., and more importantly, b) to allow me to quickly and easily get down ideas for songs, and then work on them - adding more tracks, editing, and so on. The BR-80 has three modes, one of which (e-Band mode) is close to useless for me - it's kind of a play along mode for practicing, and playing backup tracks for live shows or whatever. But the other 2 modes are EXACTLY what I was looking for. Once you have the hang of it it's really pretty simple to use, and it gives you plenty of options to mix your tracks after you get them down. If you've ever used a DAW, this device will be completely intuitive - and for me at least, I just kept finding more bells and whistles that I could use if I needed. Is it perfect? Of course not. There are missing features that would be great to have - editable drum patterns (if you want to use other than the built-in patterns, you need to create them on a PC and import them as SMF files), send effects other than just reverb, and so on. And as other users have noted, it's in no way a replacement for a real DAW setup. But it's not supposed to be.https://www.xcelsus.de/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f4af987f36---bosch-washing-machine-user-manual-logixx-8.pdf It's supposed to meet 2 (or 3) very specific needs, and it does that extremely well.Roland should make a built-in folding stands for angle view and operate the unit. I've used jamming with friends they so impress to hear it and saw I velcro-mounted on my guitar I bought a Portable Charger RAVPower 7800mAh Power Bank External Battery Pack (2.4A Output, 2A Input) to use with this unit for long time runningI didn't expect it to be as complicated as it was hence I accidently erased some of the song features. I wanted this to supplement my learning guitar not have to learn this before guitar. Sorry I would not recommend buying this item, unless you have the spare time to read the not so good manual. It's an amazing practice tool. It's a solid-state modelling amp with a ton of different amp models and effects that you can fit in your pocket. Guitar goes in one end, headphones in the other and you can play away anywhere without bothering the neighbors or housemates. Clean tones are good, light crunch and overdrive is passable, but the high-distortion tones aren't great.but yeah, this is a sub ?200 battery powered, pocket sized device.you can't really expect high-end, valve amp tones from it. If you're an absolute beginner, this is worth a buy because you get a portable, pocket sized amp with lots of amp models and effects to play with. If you're an intermediate guitarist, you get lots of backing tracks (conveniently organised by genre and key) to jam along with and practice soloing. You can also put your own music on the SD card and can shift it to a different key or slow it down without altering the pitch when you're trying to get that one part right. If you're an advanced guitarist or a singer songwriter, this is a perfect sketch-pad for recording demos or song ideas. It fits in your guitar case and you can either just record and go in 'live' mode, or use the surprisingly full featured multi-track recorder.www.demirdokumservisiankara.com/image/files/comcast-remote-control-instruction-manual.pdf My only real negatives for this product is being so small, it can be a bit fiddly to use as you have to navigate through mutliple menus to edit settings instead of using full size faders and knobs that you'd get on a full sized mixer.Basically, the BR-80 is a modelling amp with a ton of effects, an amazing practice tool with the backing tracks, drum loops, metronome etc and a good sktchpad recorder for recording demos and getting song ideas down AND also works as a USB audio interface if you use a DAW on your computer. I can't recommend this highly enough.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Amazing value for money. I haven't explored all the functions yet. I have tried the immediate mode where it acts a but like a tape recorder or message recorder. As an idea comes into your head it takes only a few seconds to boot it up and hey presto, using the two embedded microphones, you have a very faithful recording. Track recording, if you have done it before elsewhere, is also fairly simple. However, for the complete novice, producing a final mix does require frequent reference to the manual and is quite tricky. I feel that this is due to what they have packed into such a tiny device, using cusor type arrows and a selector wheel to make choices. I also feel that with HD colour screens on phones becoming pretty much the standard, the monochrome display provided is very old fashioned, but having said that, it is reasonably functional once you get the hang of it. The sound quality is excellent but I haven't blasted the results through anything more powerful than a practice amp. It's great that this is literally a handheld device, and I have small hands but to make it a centimetre wider and broader would probably allow for a better control layout and a better screen.perhaps even colour, and I dont think it would detract from its deminutive portability. As a quality recording device it is at the inexpensive end of the market and adding a few extra pounds for a better display would raise it high above the opposition. Would I buy it again. certainly.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Guitar effects are great; I quite like the preset ones, and you can modify them to suit your taste. I like the option to make the guitar sound like a bass. Vocal recording pretty good too. I could record a whole song sounding as a whole band (guitars, bass, drums vocals) on the first day, and it already sounded really very good. I know there is more it can do. You can overdub, re-record fractions of a track to correct mistakes. I would definitely recommend, it's giving me hours of great fun!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Reviews say too many menus and scrolling but I'm ok with it as you get the portability. Love the sliders, about the size of an A4 piece of paper. Fairly Intuitive but some stuff is quite hard to find on the menus. I bought for monitoring vocals the Tascam DP03SD sounded unsubstantial like singing in a tin can. I have a boss BR8 from 2000. I've been looking for a portable device to replace it. Tried; zoom R8 zoom R24, other newer boss including BR80 (bought it), Tascam DP03SD.They all sound like the sound is coming out of a tin on the monitor mix. It's fine when you put it on a PC daw dry then add effects but like I said it sounds horrible when monitoring. None come up to the vocal monitoring of my very old boss br8. It's the closest sound to a studio. It's gorgeous. Especially when you are doing vocals it makes you sing better when you can hear the nuances of the sound. It's nearly as good as the br8 for monitoring. I'm thrilled. Sound quality wise it's not as good as the br8. But for editing eq, compression, delay, reverb, etc etc it's superb. The other 8 tracks didn't have this functionality unless I couldn't find how to do it. Of course you need a bag of leads which mean a big bag bigger than the br800. It's a lot of money for me but actually it's quite cheap when you consider how good it is compared to the competitors. If you aren't bothered about the monitoring go for the other makes as they are brilliant better for some tasks in fact the zoom came out best for functionality.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again As a recording tool there is not much you cannot do with it. It is an 8 track recorder, mp3 and wav player, it has really good mics so is great for recording band practices or acoustic and vocals. It has COSM fx for the multitrack which are really good.enough for a demo. Line in so you can record out from a mixer or plug in external units, I have a Trio I use for recording songs. You can use the live recording in mp3 mode which would take years to fill an SD card. It can also be used as a usb soundcard on a PC so you can record with all the fx on a DAW. It is fairly user friendly although you do need to read the manual to get the best out of it. I already have weeks worth of recordings more than I ever did using computer based recording. If you are looking at one you will not regret it.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I could write a huge review, but suffice to say it is truly amazing. Have put a few songs together that sound good and have had some jams withe inbuilt drums and bass that I have been able to edit into respectable instrumentals. No short review can do justice to it. Vocal harmonies, amp modelling a selection of classic guitars with great effects you can lock yourself I. The bedroom for weeks and play with this. Oh I bought a power adapter as well as it comes with batteries for portability.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I takes a lot of learning but that is half the pleasure, because when you get the hang of it you can't believe that something the size of a phone can do so much. All those effects - loads for the guitar, and then you can also get great bass sounds out of a guitar, and all the vocal effects are brilliant too. When I ordered it, my plan was to use it to record parts and send them all to a music editing package to put songs together. However, once I started to understand the BR-80, I realised it was going to be quicker and more fun to simply build up the majority of each song using the built-in 8 track recorder. And that means you can take your work-in-progress wherever you go, so your not tied to a computer. The 8-track recorder has a lot of functionality to allow you to control what each track does. And did I mention the drum machine. It's AMAZING! Possibly the best gadget I have ever bought.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again One surprise though: I put the batteries in the device, then I noticed a funny smell coming from the BR-80. The BR-80 was getting hot. One of the AA batteries was too hot to handle. I removed it quickly and waited a few minutes for it to cool down. Then I put new IKEA AA batteries in it and it worked just fine. My guess the BR-80 was made 10years ago and the supplied batteries are also10 years old as well. Warning don't put the supplied batteries in the Micro BR and walk away as you might have a fire.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Different use, perfect to record gigs and lives, easy to use. Also perfect to carry as a trainer, backing and companion away from home. Always in my gigbag.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again The sound quality and the built in guitar effects are excellent. I use it mostly to play along with backing tracks which is much easier than hooking up the guitar, FX and mp3 line-in. As a recording tool for sketching out song ideas, I can see that it would be excellent. One small problem that I've found is that when using it as an interface for recording directly to a computer, there was some lag so it's not the best for recording live performance into a DAW.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It does everything expected and is so easy to use. Can record live with the built in mics or record 8 tracks separately to build up songs. Take it everywhere with me!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Didnt liked this all sensor panel. Sometimes you just cant hit the right button because you just dont feel where it is. Guitar effects sound is really bad. The ones you can have with plugins on your compuiter will sound much better. And recorded sound itself is not very good aswell. For this price you can have much better device of even few of them. Its good just for one reason - easy to record on the go. For anyhing else go for something different!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again.
