The best Nice product. ?????????? Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2014 I had a mini-tour in a different country and I wanted to travel light.http://www.restorationservice.ca/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f32457c68e---bosch-tumble-dryer-classixx-7-manual.pdf I left my pedal board at home and bought the ME-20B because of its size. As for the sonic quality it is excellent and I expect nothing less from Roland. I was able to program 10 different settings, that were wildly different, and made it sound like I brought 4 different basses with me, it was that dramatic. Getting there was another story. In manual mode it wasn't difficult to discover the various potentials of the effects in combination. Writing and saving patches was another story. The manual is poorly written, it lets this fine product down. After a few baffling weeks I developed my own understanding and I was confident I could change patches on the fly in program mode. I'm glad I started early learning the ins and outs otherwise there would have been dramas once I got on the road. The BOSS ME-20B is no exception. Jam packed with a great range of features specifically for bass guitarists.https://www.taxiserviceh24.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f325411dc9---bosch-ubh-2-20-rle-manual.pdf The ME20B works like a bunch of stomp boxes is a single enclosure. The advantage of that is that it is much smaller. For the price it gives you a massive selection of effects too. To get the same number of single stomp boxes would cost a small fortune. As it has trailered towards bassists you have specific effects. Compressonr, Wah, Distortions, Modulation all work for the bass. With the memory function you can store up to 30 sounds. The BOSS ME-20B will run on batteries or mains. To use it with mains you will need to purchase a power supply separately. It does include batteries however. Glen 3.0 out of 5 stars Call me daft but I found it far too 'awkward' to use and the 2 segment display is more than out of date. The feedback given to the user regarding current setting is dated. It will run on batteries by I advise a mains power supply.I recommend it for people who want to start to experiment with effects and for people that are already professional. Its quite fun and easy to use once you get the hang of it. FULL BY PASS on this as well much i must say doesnt live up to anything else for me atm. Come's with its own Turner which blew away the Qtuner i was using at the time. Mix and match your favorite tones and effects with the built in patch maker, save it and its yours forever.http://www.65doctor.com/upload/admin/files/9840-service-manual.pdf The synth effects do not live up to expectation, however that been said i shall give you a tip: Use a plectrum while playing with the synth effects and strike hard, if your like me and hate using a plectrum your kinda stuck with it, since the effect doesnt work well ( if at all ) with your fingers. My ME 20b didnt come with a Manuel so i went online to the boss website and got one from there, from what i remember they dont show how to activate the wah wah pedal. So I will tell you how you do that, press your foot on the volume pedal and push it all the way down then press alittle harder and you will see the light comes on for the wah wah pedal. You can adjust the pressure you have to put on the pedal to activate the wah wah but im not sure how you do that. All in all great product a must buy. I might do a video of some of the effect later on when i get a web cam WATCH THIS SPACE!I left my pedal board at home and bought the ME-20B because of its size. If it doesn't dawn on you how to do what you want, then ask a friend with a multi-fx to help you with it. This boss unit is pretty simple as far as multi-fx go, so if you're struggling with it, you may just want to go back to individual pedals. good luckI borrowed the guitar version of the same pedal (with manual) just to get a feel for how to interact with it. I used to visit Reddit often just to chat about things that interest me, I stopped because all of the jerks who just want to be smart-asses.I previously had not used multi-effects pedals, and Boss manuals are not terribly instructive. I was able to find an online app that made programming easier (basically laid out all the effects into an easy to use virtual pedal board). I also found a video for the GT-10, which gave me some ideas on how to create effects and get the most out of it.Simplicity in itself. I felt I asked a reasonable question and was faced with an unreasonable answer and the thing I was attacked over (the manual) I had stated that I have and had read but just because one person felt the need to be a smart arse without obviously reading my question started all off this. Apologises for flying off the handle but it all we seem to see here people having nothing better to do but be arses for the sake of it, so I am behind on the thumper rule. It sounds ok so far, much better tone wise than the Zoom B1 I managed to kill somehow but lacking the drum machine the B1 has. The snyth bass patches aren't up to much but you can play around with things and alter them to your liking, not got that far yet, I'm still getting used to it. I may be wrong on that as I've not fully delved into all the ins and outs so far but that's how it seems to me at this stage. It's nice and sturdy (metal case) and I was seduced by the fact that it's a well known brand so should (fingers crossed) be reliable after the dissapointment with the Zoom.I'm a newbie to multi-effects but the guy in the shop recommended the Boss unit over the Zoom B2.1 as he said he thought it was more suitable to use live. I do think it pays dividends to spend some time with the manual before you start tinkering. And then spend more time setting up your own patches. Of the factory presets there's an awful lot that I personally wouldn't use. I don't think the Synth effects are up to much but I've got no personal experience of others to relate that to, just the fact that they are a bit too unsubtle to fit comfortably in anything I'm presently playing. I'm starting to get my head around the use of the unit now and in memory mode - the mode they suggest you put it in for live use - one of the pedals is 'active' at all times, so you can't have it without a patch being in use, a dry signal in other words. Unless I'm missing something, which is a distinct possibility as, as I mentioned, I am very much a newbie with multi-effects. A patch can consist of no more tham EQ settings though so it seems to me that, during the same song, unless you engage in some VERY nifty footwork, you can swap between no more than three patches - one per pedal. This is fine for me as I wouldn't expect to need any more than that and swapping banks between songs only seems to take a few seconds and a patch itself can obviously be made up of more than one 'effect'. There may be others though who might find this not enough. For me I'm really enjoying using the pedal a lot but I can see me setting up no more than about two or three banks of patches which I'll use live with my covers band. If I start playing more original stuff I think Imay end using a few more than that though. In short, I think it's great! Mark Still messing around with mine. I've learned how to do the tap dancing bit to switch the patch banks up and down now Very easy to use, and some great sounds.8 banks of 3 available. Don't know if other pedals have this feature? Kev The ME20B fits in my guitar bag and is trouble free, It doesn't effect the basic sound of the bass as so many have moaned about. Totally recommend this big time. Oh yeah.its got lots of other stuff on it that may be good or not.as I said, compression, octavider, tuner, chorus is all I want, and bar the the compressor I could do without any those to be honest. I've played around with some of the other bits on it and it all seems cool, but that's just noodling in the front room, however, a bassist doesn't really need much of that kinda stuff in the real world of gigs!! I like the built in tuner, compressor, chorus sound, phaser, octaver is.ok but I don't get much chance to use it.But for what the little guy is i say go for it especially if its going to be an introduction to the effects world its a great way to start! Bought a Boss GTB-6 which of course is a lot more versatile and in my opinion essential, but I miss the simplicity of the ME20b just for messing about with. Especially as it fits in my gigbag and can run off batteries. Might have to buy another one. Truckstop I managed to get a great one configured for a Muse track.it doesn't sound much like the Muse bass but it works for me. If I can get this saved and working LIVE then that will be a result. Generally, I think effects can be too cheesey soundwise so therefore limited to single rather than a multi effects units as there will be so many you pay for but never use.
