So if you want great-sounding effects without all the menu surfing, the ME-50 is everything you need. A multi-effects processor without a menu-driven LCD. Leave it to BOSS to design the most intuitive multi-effects processor ever. With simple knob-based control over each effect section, the ME-50 makes dialing in your tone easier than ever. And when you want to kick in an effect, just step on one of the footswitches. Think of it as a pedalboard full of stompboxes, just without all the individual pedals. Derived from the popular OD-20 Drive Zone, these are some of the crunchiest, tastiest overdriven sounds you can imagine. There's even a Square effect for cool synth-type sounds. Of course, the ME-50 also has plenty of other effects like compression, analog delay, flanger, phaser, tremolo, Harmonist, Uni-V and a wicked new Rotary effect. Having an assignable expression pedal is great, but not if you have to dig through menus just to select the effect you want to control. The ME-50 fixes all that with a simple Pedal Mode switch and knob. First, select whether you want to use the pedal for volume or expression. If you choose expression, you can then select one of six preset assignments via the dedicated knob: wah, resonance, voice, ring mod and octave up or down. The ME-50's Memory function makes changing Patches quick and easy. Once enabled, the three footswitches become Patch selectors for switching between three programs within one of the ME-50's ten memory banks. And with the ME-50's convenient tuner function, keeping your guitar in tune is easy.Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. B. Arthur 5.0 out of 5 stars What it is: - over 50 stomp box effects in one very sturdy floor based package arranged in sensible, intuitive groups controlled by knobs, footswitches and a pedal. It is controlled by the same kind of knobs you would find on stomp boxes - no LCD menus, just an LED for tuning and identifying the memorised patches. It is a professional unit designed to be used between guitar and amp(s) just like a stomp box chain. It has everything a mainstream electric guitarist of any genre could want. What it is not: - It is not an amp modeller. Effects etc: - General:- Chromatic tuner; master level; Reverb - 4 types; Noise supression; Compressor - sustain and level knobs; Tone modify - 10 types including acoustic simulator. Footswitch 2 - Modulation 11 types of chorus, flange, rotary etc including intelligent pitch shift (harmonist). Selector plus three knobs. Footswitch 3 - Delay - 11 settings, 0-2000 ms, reverse, tap etc. Selector plus three knobs. Footpedal - 7 settings, wah, pitch-shift, volume etc. Sounds: - all of very high quality. There will be bespoke specialist pedals that do specific things better but this unit covers all the common FX ground superbly. Reliability: - Absolutely, steel chassis and very durable circuit board. I spilled coffee on mine. It got in the electronics and the unit went bananas. I unplugged it, took it apart (now I don't recommend you do this) removed the circuit board, washed it and the inside of the unit with clean water, dried everything with a hairdrier and reassembled the lot. It then worked perfectly and still does a year or more later.I thought of upgrading, but what the ME-70 abandoned didn't make up for the new features for me as all I want this for is a multi FX feed into my amp. Bring this back Boss. The only downside to it is that it doesn't come with a DC In adaptor, but you can pick those up pretty cheap.wbbray.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f2712553f9---bosch-supplier-manual.pdf Also the sound onstage is phenomonal, and it doesn't take too much fiddling around to get the right sound. It takes up way less space on my pedal board and replaces 7 other pedals.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. The free BOSS TONE STUDIO software unlocks even more tonal possibilities, providing a cool graphical interface for tweaking and organizing sounds on your computer, plus a web connection to BOSS TONE CENTRAL for direct access to free gig-ready patches created by top pro guitarists and much more. A complete history of gig-ready BOSS tone processing is at your command, from multiple overdrives and distortions to wahs, mod effects, pitch shifters, delays, and beyond.copenhagenpools.com/contents//files/carrier-air-conditioner-manual-pdf BOSS groundbreaking Multi Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology is represented with the unique, spacious ambience of Tera Echo and the distinctive tone-shaping possibilities of Overtone. The onboard expression pedal can be used for foot volume and pedal effects like wah, octave shift, and Freeze, and its also possible to control effects parameters such as mod rate, delay oscillation, and more for expressive real-time sound shaping. Instant Gratification with Dedicated Knobs Unlike typical menu-driven multi-effects processors that are complicated and unintuitive, using the ME-80 is as easy as using a stompbox. Effects are organized into eight logical categories that can all be active at the same time. Seven categories contain multiple effects types to choose from, plus dedicated knobs for selecting a type and adjusting it with a set of parameters youd find in the pedal version of the effect. The Pedal FX category has its own knob for quickly assigning a particular effects type or function to be controlled by foot with the expression pedal. With this familiar and friendly interface, youre able to dial up and play great tones instantly, just like using a large pedalboard filled with your favorite stomps. But a major advantage over that pedalboard is that you can to save all the current knob settings to one of the ME-80s 36 user patch locations, allowing you to recall custom effects configurations at the touch of a pedal. Stompbox Immediacy or Multi-FX Power: You Decide The hands-on experience that stompbox control provides is perfect for tweaking tones as you go. However, there are times when switching among an entire group of preset effects is more efficient, such as when youve set up complex tones for different songs. The flexible ME-80 supports either approach, giving you the best of worlds.https://www.icodar.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f2722f3202---bosch-stove-top-manual.pdf By entering Memory mode, seven footswitches are automatically reconfigured to select user or preset patches and patch banks, letting you recall complete multi-effects setups directly. One footswitch on the ME-80 is dedicated just for mode switching, so you can toggle between Manual and Memory modes any time you want, even in the middle of a song. The newly developed footswitch style provides two switches in the space occupied by one in previous designs, allowing BOSS to equip the ME-80 with a generous array of foot-operated controls while keeping the unit extremely compact and mobile. In addition to the eight main footswitches, the expression pedal is equipped with an integrated toe switch that toggles between foot volume and the current Pedal FX setting. Its also possible to monitor the ME-80s effects sound while recording an unprocessed signal into a DAW track; after the fact, use the USB Loopback function to re-amp the dry track with the ME-80, tweaking the knobs as you listen to the song to capture the perfect tone. MIDI transfer over USB is also supported, allowing you to select ME-80 patches from your computer, send expression and control pedal data into your software, and swap patches via BOSS TONE STUDIO. Edit and Organize Tones and Connect to the Web with BOSS TONE STUDIO Available as a free download, the BOSS TONE STUDIO application provides an inviting graphical interface for tweaking the ME-80s effects from your Mac or Windows computer through USB. The software makes it easy to save, edit, and organize your patches, and to load them into the ME-80 as needed for different gigs and other applications. If your computer has Internet access, BOSS TONE STUDIO also provides an integrated connection to the BOSS TONE CENTRAL website, allowing you to preview and download gig-ready patches created by top guitar pros directly into your ME-80.http://www.predoisiasociatii.ro/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f27305d048---bosch-t-disc-manual.pdf In addition to expanding your palette of tones, these free patches provide solid foundations for creating your own patches with the ME-80s extensive array of effects. BOSS TONE CENTRAL: Your Web Home for Free Patches, Instructional Vids, Artist Tips, and More BOSS TONE CENTRAL is the ultimate destination for all players that use BOSS guitar and bass gear. The initial focus of this powerful new web portal is on the ME-80, but compact stomps and other BOSS multi-effects will be included as the site grows. Right now, you have access to lots of great ME-80 content, including demo videos and free patches created by famous guitarists, touring pros, and session players. Check back often for additional patches, how-to videos, artist interviews, and much more. If you love BOSS effects, BOSS TONE CENTRAL is the place to be! For me personally this is a plus as I dont want to go through a battery of menus and sub menus to set up a tone i like. Sure, this processor is slightly less versatile than an equivalently priced Zoom G5n, but the BOSS is so easy to use, intuitive and quick. The build quality is amazing. I absolutely adore it and would definitely recommend it. For computer connection it installs instantly and the software is also very easy to use. My past processor was a line6 pod (bean) so this is a nice upgrade. I think it has all the effects I'll ever really need. I just wish BOSS wasn't so cheap and include a power supply, but other companies are guilty of that as well. Posted by George on Jul 8, 2020 Was this review helpful.I soon realized it was going to get very expensive so I started looking at multi effects pedals and modeling amps. After much research I set my sights on the Boss ME-80. I sold what pedals I had and took the plunge and I am so happy I did. The versatility and tones you get for the price are amazing. Can't beat that kind of deal. Not the case with the ME-80, I found my tone and so many more. Having dedicated knobs makes it easy to dial in your tone on the fly. My only wish is that the looper could record longer. But for the price, this board is hard to beat. Posted by Adam on Mar 29, 2019 Was this review helpful.Posted by Christian on Jan 3, 2019 Was this review helpful. Not being gadget savvy myself, it was super easy to learn. Everything is labled and laid out. Just turn the knobs and click on and off. It has all (most) the Boss' pedal effects. I use the overdrive, blues drive and distortion, they are just like the real Boss stomp boxes. The phaser and flanger are the classic ones. But the best thing is, that this multi effect has built in pre amps. From Fenders to Vox amd Marshalls. Often im in the gig where no reliable amps are available. No worries, i just connect my ME80 to the PA and turn on the preamp. Only thing i am not happy is, this unit doesnt have effect loop out. So if it works best in clean amp or no amp. Posted by Simon on Apr 18, 2018 Was this review helpful.I've been playing for 50 years and this piece of equipment is genius. It sure beats having 10 pedals on the floor. Amazing is what you get for so many different sound combos. A must for any serious guitar picker Posted by Pete on Feb 18, 2018 Was this review helpful.Overdrives and distortions are much better than previous Boss multi pedals. Looper is a excellent addition. My only complaint is the volume pedal. Its smaller than my ME-50 and not near as rugged. Just something I have to get used to. But all in all was more than happy with the purchase. Posted by Jason on Apr 8, 2017 Was this review helpful.I run it through a Marshall jmd:1. Lots of custom tones and fx combos easily programmed or ready on the fly in a live setting or studio recording. It is not as expensive as other brands but it does compete with its quick user friendly format and instant available options that cater to a fast creative workflow. A great quality and price for a low budget. Always great deals, excellent friendly knowledgeable helpful staff. You can hear the boss me 80 guitar multi FX unit used in many of these studio session recordings: It took this long but when I saw the ME-80 I was cautiously optimistic. The fact that I could operate it as individual stomp boxes or programed patches was great, but would the sounds be up to snuff. I've never been a fan of Line 6 distortions and didn't know what I was going to get from the Boss unit. One test drive removed all doubt. The amp Sims and distortions and over drives sound just like the stomp boxes. The reverts delays modulations sound great. The harmonizer tends to get lost on 3rds but cripes so does the stomp box lol. Everything is so well thought out that I have a hard time coming up with my usual niggles when it comes to reviewing a piece of gear. You usually always wish a unit like this did something extra or different but this thing does things I never even though of like the pickup Sims which sound great and are very useful. I'm sure this was designed or had high input from a gigging musician. I could not be happier. Posted by Will on Feb 1, 2017 Was this review helpful.One.I. Would recommend the Boss ME-80 pedal to any guitarists out there. The tone is killer.BUTTER. Posted by Joe on Dec 28, 2016 Was this review helpful. Its so fun to play on, and it very versatile. Its never let me down yet and iv borrowed this for 8 months now. Definitely a high quality piece of gear. Posted by Keenan on Jun 15, 2016 Was this review helpful. Posted by richi on Jun 26, 2015 Was this review helpful.I have owned a Digitech RP350, a Digitech RP500 and a Line 6 M13.While the Line 6 was easy to program as it had no amp simulation, the DIGITECH products were complicated and needed a lot of hours to understand. Some of the Line 6 effects left a lot to be desired, especially the modulations. The ME 80 is intuitive, logical and the downloads available are abundant and you will find something for everyone's taste. I can program the pedal to turn my Fat 50's pick ups on my Strat into humbuckers if I want to. I am 53 years old and find this easy to run and program without looking like I am tap dancing on my pedal board. Sold all my analogue pedals including my Wamplers, MXR, TC Electronic etc, with no regrets. Manual mode and patch mode work equally well. You can use Manual Mode as 7-8 individual pedals or in User mode as a live set list. Way less complicated than the GT 100, but has most of the patches from that unit. Great service from Randy and Blair. Posted by Marcel on Apr 7, 2015 Was this review helpful. Some of the others may have a few more gadgets, but scrolling through screens and trying to learn all of the technical aspects of running them is clumsy and painful. The BOSS rig takes all of 20 minutes to figure out, as everything on the board is laid out in an easy-to-understand, common-sense fashion. Posted by Rick on May 8, 2014 Was this review helpful. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided. No Lemon Policy - your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times. Loaners Available - a loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired. Power Surge Protection - your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
