To top off the behemoth that is the GT-10B, truly intuitive operation methods such as the Effects Select buttons and rotary encoder knobs give the BOSS an edge on the competition. USB connectivity and a rigorous design ensure that the BOSS GT-10B is always ready and easy to use, no matter where or when. I've been a pod user for years and while it's a great product from line 6 whether it's the original, the xt or the pro but it has it's limitations. The GT-10B on the other hand takes your tones to a different level. Aside from having great models it also has an arsenal of effects. Whether you use all of them or not is up to your disgression. What's is really beneficial about the GT-10B is that it is not a toy. It's a intense computer processor for bass and you will see more and more of this with the newer stuff coming out this year. If you want to learn about editing, midi implemenatation, looping, backing up and restoring data to a computer then this is the machine for you. This thing is very transparent without effects which makes it nice to just keep in the chain and make use of the tuner and pedal. And when effects are needed there are a lot of very good sounding ones to choose from and tweak. Great presets sounds, I liked the synth and factory fretless presets a lot. I also liked the looper function, it is pretty basic but since I do the audio checkup in the band I can easily save a bass pattern and while the band is playing along with the loop I can go downstage and listen to the whole band to check up the levels. You can always save your loops on your pc though. Verisign.http://energysatrap.com/images/boss-gt10b-user-manual.pdf Massive power of BOSS latest DSP and know-how of sound modeling based on COSM provide ultimate effects capability and essential features for bass. With a Parallel Effects Chain, Phrase Looper, and EZ Tone features, the GT-10B pedal is clearly the most advanced-yet-friendly bass station on the market. Bass Tone Factory Powered by BOSS latest custom-made sound processor, the GT-10B provides dozens of stunning effects and COSM amp models to explore, combine, and customize, but with careful attention given to the needs of bass players. Advanced sound Powered by the custom-made new-generation processor and BOSS proprietary sound modeling method COSM, the GT-10B multi-effects pedal ushers in a new era of audio quality for guitarists. BOSS huge accumulated know-how of effects and sound modeling are fully integrated into this new flagship multi-effects floorboard. As a result, tone quality is supreme, and response to playing dynamics is much more natural and musical. And not just for the stage the Boss GT-10B is also great in the studio thanks to its USB capability and digital output. EZ TONE wizard The GT-10B is a pro players dream, but it s also friendly and easy-to-use. The innovative EZ Tone wizard helps you create top-quality sounds quickly. It offers a truly intuitive approach based on graphical icons to get the sounds that bass players are imagining. No more struggling with parameters on the LCD or multiple cursor commands. As well as the EZ TONE, managing the Boss GT-10B pedal is truly intuitive. For example, the new Positional Tone Control allows tone and effects creation via a revolutionary Tone Grid where you place the pointer in a spatial area depending on what kind of tone or effects you want. Operation is similar to having compact pedals on a pedal-board quickly jumping from any effect to any effect.www.gametimecatering.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f023d6fc6b---bosch-radionics-manual.pdf More flexibility and possibility GT-10B s PARALLEL CHAIN offers two separate effects paths including COSM amp models for super tone capability or seamless switching from two bass effects paths. Two channels can be used simultaneously or blended by expression pedal, or even switched by playing dynamics. Phrase Looper Built-In GT-10B multi-effects pedal comes equipped with PHRASE LOOPER. This inspiring feature allows phrases to be created using sound-on-sound loop recording for performance, practice, or as a sketchpad. USB Connectivity Connect the GT-10B to a wide range of external gear via its rear-panel USB port, where audio and MIDI data (bulk data) can be streamed digitally to computers, digital recorders, or other compatible devices. Safely transfer precious data to and from the GT-10B via USB as well. It s a BOSS tradition to build gear that looks great, is user friendly, and stands up to the rigors of the road. The Boss GT-10B pedal is no exception, with its strong, stylish design, and six dedicated footswitches plus expression pedal. The high-contrast LCD and LED make using the GT-10B a breeze even on dark stages or in glaring sunlight. The sturdy metal chassis is BOSS road-tough. With every multi effects pedal there will be preset you may never use so expect the unexpected however there are a lot presets to choose from so regardless of your playing style the GT10B has it. If you’re a bassist that likes to keep it simple this pedal may not be for you. If you want to build your own killer tones with ease or use the presets programed by professionals and then taylor them to your liking I highly recommend the Boss GT 10B. Not all of the effects you get are top of the line, but it does a pretty good job at most things. If you only need one specific sound, you may be better off buying a high end single pedal instead of this board. But, as much as this thing costs, it's absolutely worth the price. As with anything so powerful, it can be hard to use if you don't take the time to learn how it works. However, there are plenty of easy to follow youtube videos going over everything this pedal can do.Please try again later. Please try again later. It is also not a cheap piece of gear. Still, if you want a qulaity piece of gear that can grow with your music and musicianship, then you would be hard pressed to find a better bass multi-effect pedal than the GT-10B. Unfortunately, I must rescind my endorsement of the Boss GT-10B. It happened the first time during a service at my church gig. I had to pull the unit and go dry. I did not use the unit for the next two or three weeks. When I went back to use it, it seemed to be working normally. Then a couple of weeks later, I had the same issue, this time right before a gig during sound check. Again, I had to run my bass dry. I took the GT-10B to a local tech to have it repaired and by the time they were able to check it, the GT-1B, of course, was functioning correctly. They called Boss when they could not find a problem and the Boss representatives stated that this is not a known issue. Therefore, I can no longer recommend that you purchase this unit. While I no longer gig at the rate that I once did, I still am playing two to three times a week. Please try again later. Please try again later. Itza Munoz 5.0 out of 5 stars Please try again later. I'm still having a bit of trouble understanding how the EXP Pedal and EXP Pedal SW are separated from each other in terms of having the pedal perform two separate sweep functions per patch. For example: having the pedal be a volume control, but when the switch is activated the assigns take over and the pedal simultaneously toggles reverb on while making the pedal function only as an effect level sweep for the reverb (no volume control). Also the EXP1 Func has to be set to only ONE function. Either Wah, volume, OR bend. This drove me crazy for while but I think I'm starting to figure it out. Awesomeness ensues. As I understand it the best way to proceed is to have the manual and this forum handy which should see me through really learning to harness the power of the gt10b. My question has to do with how I can combine the gt with software like mainstage which seems to be an equally powerful, albeit geared to words a different market, effects processor. It may be overkill to have both or it may just be plain useless but I can't shake this feeling that there is a way to combine the two in a live setting to produce some awesomeness. Any one combined these two powerhouses? Any tips? Can't find any documentation on this. Click to expand. Here are my thoughts as a place to start off on. Connect via USB. Turn direct monitor off Set computer to through (which I'm not sure how to do just yet) Set input select to USB In As I understand it the signal passes thru in to the computer (and potentially on to the sub outputs and so on) without passing through the effects processing. Gt10b ends up being a dedicated effects as well as sound card that will feed front of house as well as my own amp (and who knows what else). Thoughts? Here's another question. I'm trying to get some sort of connection between the floorboard editor and my floorboard. Iv attached a picture so you can see what I get. The floorboard is in factory setting and is connected to computer via USB. Then I have a connection to the computer having done so in the audio midi setup in my utilities on my Mac running lion. Thanks Click to expand. I've only had my GT-10B for a couple months now so I'm not the most experienced GT-10b user but I've used many effects before and I know what I'm doing and what I want out of the gear I use. But here is a sound I really like as a standard rock bass sound. I'll go though it all so you can try creating the same thing yourself, maybe analyze what I did and get inspiration from that. (I'll try uploading my actual patch later if you want). Note: I really enjoy a Justin Chancellor type rock sound but I also really like the old Incubus sound too (think Make Yourself and Morning View). 92 of the time I play with my fingers but I really enjoy using a pick too. I also play through a GK 1001rbii. With this patch I have the on board preamp set to passive mode). On the amp my standard settings go something like this: Input vol about 10 o'clock, -15db pad on, contour off, Presence at about 1-2 o'clock, Everything in the EQ is at noon and I adjust depending on the room and situation. Boost at 3'oclock, tweeter all the way down and woofer to taste. Okay now for the GT settings. I'll just progress from left to right. First switch everything off. The compressor, then, is first. Also, I'm displaying everything from the list mode as opposed to the knob display mode so I wont bother naming the parameter names, just the values. I have CTL1 set to Chorus and CTL2 Set to Reverb. And my output level on the GT-10b is at about an 11. This sound was created as a great rock sound that fits well in my band and sounds great with fingers or a pick. It sits nice in our mix but each to his own and with your tastes and your gear you might hate it but it's one the best tones I've been able to create and one that I've been the most happy with. I created this tone with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Hybrid slinky's. I love the fullness and openness of new strings. (thinking about switching to Elixirs for this reason). I hope this gives you ideas and let me know what you think of the sound.I will try that out. It sounds like a great sound. I play a marcus miller with the john east preamp installed, so i will try some different approaches that way as wellHad a question about the Channel Select.Had a question about the Channel Select.Gold Supporters see zero ads.
