Heather 5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a multi-instrumentalist. In my primary band, I play keyboards and saxophones (along with other instruments). For this setup (see photo), I have a block of three FS-6s connected, for a total of six switches. The left three switches are used for sustain on the top, middle, and bottom keyboards. I also have two additional units which I use for my Roland guitar amp, more keyboard sustains, or whatever else I need at the time. There are several reasons I love these switches. Their extreme flexibility tops the list. Each of the two switches on a single pedal can be hooked up either singly with TS cables, or in tandem with one TRS cable. The switches on the back allow you to change the polarity of each switch, changing it from momentary to latching. Finally, the ability to chain them together is fantastic, and makes for a nice, clean setup. There are a couple of cons worth noting. One, they are a bit expensive. In my humble opinion, they are worth every penny, but they represent a healthy investment for something you drop on the floor and step on. Two, they do each require a 9v battery. The good news is, a fresh 9v lasts a really long time in them, especially if you remember to unplug them when not in use. When installed on a pedalboard you have to unplug the output plug all the time otherwise the battery will run down. A real pain when the pedalboard is tightly populated. You can use a 9V clip connector to 5.5mm barrel connector adapter but make sure the center of the barrel connector is negative (-).All the makers have different versions of the same switch.Then there's the Boss switch, which doesn't come with a pre-installed cable.I've already been using two of these switches for years, as a controller for an Alesis SR-16 drum machine. That took about 10 years of regular (more than weekly) use. Inside and out, Boss is the best such device out there. The case is thick, solid aluminum with a hard rubber base, and is basically bombproof. The pedal is firm and the switch action is QUIET.It's the best-designed, most durable and most reliable option out there for the price, and it will save you a lot of headaches in the long run.Used this initially on my Boss RC30 loop station because that device requires normally-closed switch for some bizarre reason. It is way smaller than I imagined. I thought no battery means we need the power plugged in always. Nope, you don't need power if you need this to do only unlatched function. The foot print is the size of a regular effects pedal, it is compact and like half the size of the FS-6. Axeman Hero 5.0 out of 5 stars Also you don't plug them into the mains. Recommended.I use it with a Roland SPD-SX, connected with a jack cable. Doesn't need any batteries or anything for this. Small and well built - great.They are very well made and will stand up to stage use. The other great thing is they click together, so you can form a chain of them if you wish to do so. They have a polarity switch on the rear, so that you can set the polarity to suit your equipment. Unlike the FS-6 dual foot switch these are passive switches. The upside being that you don't need batteries to run them. The down side, they are Momentary only. (There is no latching option as with the FS-6 and therefore no light to show they are activated). Highly recommended.Being able to tap in the delay time sets it perfectly with the tempo of the music, so there is no guessing. There are no batteries or power that it needs, so it comes ready to use right out of the box. If you look at almost any board, there is usually one of these there. Send report Total quality Get your foot on! 18.09.2016 I bought this pedal for my ableton push, since the push uses an inverted polarity I needed something that had that function as a switch, and this one did the trick most certainly. The pedal itself is good and firmly built, thanks to rubber pads on the back it will stay strongly on the ground you place it and doesnt slip or slide even the slightest. The edges are a little sharp and I've almost hurt myself a couple of times while holding it so be careful. But in total this is a very good pedal indeed and would recommend you buying it because of it's incredible portability and the polarity switch which renders it useful for pretty much anything with an input for sustain pedals.
