boss ev-10 manualSubscribe to our free newsletter The specific pedal that I've used with EV-10 with has primarily been with the Boss PS-3, which is a pitch shifting and delay pedal. I've also used it a good amount with the Line 6 DL4, as it's compatible with this line of pedals a well. There are a number of Boss pedals out there that have an expression pedal option, but the PS-3 is one that needs it the most since it's a pitch shifting pedal and it's nice to have control over this while playing (something not possible without the expression pedal). They don't make the Boss EV-10 expression pedal anymore, but you can still find them used now and again on Ebay and elsewhere online. There's nothing really special about the pedal - it does what it does and that's it. However, what it does can certainly be helpful to you if you have a pedal that has an option for one. If you don't come across this pedal at a super cheap price, I'd recommend going with the newer Roland expression pedal which is cheap enough new anyway. It's probably worth it to even spend a little extra on the new one as to be sure that it doesn't have too many miles on it. So while the Boss EV-10 is more of a necessity than a luxury in some situations, it's one that does it's job well even if it's on the older side. In the case of a FT-2, Dynamic Filter, it will turn the pedal into a proper wah pedal. If connected to a PH-3, Phase Shifter, the expression pedal will adjust the rate control. The EV-10 was replaced by the Roland EV-5 very early so there aren't that many EV-10s around. It is very solid as it is made by the same heavy-duty diecast aluminum housing that's on the BOSS FV-200 and FV-100. The Roland EV-5 is for comparison made of plastic.http://finchamauto.com/pics/boss-compressor-manual.xml

My solution was. use a STEREO phono cable - I'd somehow assumed it was just a mono line. Whoo-hoo, that adds some fun. The wah is really configurable and realistic! (unlike other digital setups I've tried). A quick run through the configuration shows that this could have some great custom uses. Hey, just the pedal volume is great.http://medes.ru/img/lib/boss-compressor-sustainer-manual.xml Maybe I'll be able to hold off on buying a FC-300 for a little while (I think a RC-50 will come first, since I don't have anyone to jam with and I can't accompany myself very well.) Eastman jazz, Lowden, Taylor 12str, Adamas acoustics. The FC-300 is expecting a specific resistance to be presented by your expression pedal. If the pedal that you have differs from the resistance that the Roland expression pedals, then your pedal may not work properly. It is bizarre and highly unfortunate that the FC-300 does not allow you to calibrate it's expression pedal inputs to work with third party devices. In fact, two of my 7 roland pedals were out of whack and even THEY don't work with the FC-300. I also noted that none of my M-audio expression pedals will work with the FC-300. I'd need to put a new pot in them to get them to work.and that's not even worth it. What might be cool is if we could find a collection of third party pedals that do work with the FC-300 and list them here. Right now, I'm having to use all Roland pedals. Vance Thanks for the specs! Vance You could probably find them on the Internet for cheaper. I have had pretty good luck with it so that might be something you could look at. RoC Here is a ebay link: Here too: And I dont know if all these are compatible, but you can see some prices: That might explain why I can't get the full range out of the M-Audio pedal. Quote from: sustainiac on February 15, 2008, 10:06:44 PM Volume pedal Schematics for what you need are here: I often rebuild Ernie Ball Vol pedals into what we need. (10k Linear pot ) - When I worked at EB I could not convince them to make a EV-5 compatible pedal (dumb) Exp pots are 10K linear, so it can work as a 10K Expression pedal. And, from what I saw of the Line6 pedal, it's not any more sturdy than the Roland EV series.likely less so. I really don't like the feel of any of these pedals so if I do go ahead and upgrade, I will buy several proper E.Ball volume pedals and put different pots in them.https://skazkina.com/ru/bosch-installation-manual I was looking for the cheap way to get the M-audio pedals to work better (since they seem to feel so much nicer than my Roland EV series volume pedals.which are now pretty beat up). Thanks for your thoughts. Vance I recall its more like 200k to 500k and its a logarithmic audio taper. I recall its more like 200k to 500k and its a logarithmic audio taper. Yeah, but it worked great. Looking for a new solution. Maybe I do need to just buy some of those which Roland recommends and replace them in 3 years when I wear them out too. Like you said - plug and play - and that's worth a lot. Vance I just set up my GR-20 pedal to act as the expression pedal for my VG-99, using the CC settings. That might explain why I can't get the full range out of the M-Audio pedal. Same problem here. I picked up an M-Audio EX.P on Friday. Best I can get is 34-100. Missing the full range is going to land that attached to a different piece of gear as of tonight. Missing the full range is going to land that attached to a different piece of gear as of tonight. I ended up just swapping out for a bunch of EV-5s. I did swap the pots on two of the M-Audio units.but after I had bought the pot, figured out how to swap the parts out and did the work, it 'cost' me a few hours and I decided not to do that for all 5 pedals.so I just went with EV-5s. Then I sold the FC-300 and now use a different MIDI pedal which allows me to calibrate the control pedals I am attaching to it. Which pedal did you opt for and what are your overall impressions. I've been on the FC-300 fence for a couple of weeks now, so I'm curious to hear from those on both sides; especially from one that's leapt over. Ask your question here. Stephen662, 12.03.2020 Wow, the build quality and smoothness of this control has to make it to the top of and pedal owners or synth owners list. It is reasonably compact for the average boot:) All connections are sensibly placed at the top of the pedal, so that pedal board width is not used up. Of course, up to you how much room to give it.There is a polarity switch on the back - very useful. You can use this to invert one of the outputs. So you could blend from one delay to another effect.Did I mention it is well made. Send report Total quality Smooth operator.V cool due to dual outs and dual pedal inputs on the summit. V handy with the two layers on synth and two animates per layer. Pedal is smooth and very well built. Only con is I need to think about now how to balance setup of dual outs with pedal position as I work through a setlist. But that is just me ha. Send report Total quality Great pedal JureS, 02.01.2020 Works as expected, I love the dual function for mixing of two effects. Pedal is compact and made to last for a long long time. PS 4.0 out of 5 stars In short, I experienced the same issue as many of you have where, the pedal does not seem to work through the full travel of the pedal and in some cases also does not ever go fully to zero volume. I went through three pedals by different manufactures before I figured out why this was happening. The other three don't make much of a noticeable change for the first third and last third of the travel and this is by design of the programmed curve. So, in summary, I believe the pedals to be fine and it's the programmed expression curve in the keyboard that creates the perceived issue. I hope this helps with at least some of your issues. I am off the Roland now to see if the curves in my keyboard can be re-programmed!I purchased two of these pedals to use with a BOSS Reverb RV-6 and a TC Electronics Flashback x4. BOSS RV-6 setup is pretty straight forward. Just plug it into the expression jack and i can increase or decrease the level of the reverb while I play without having to bend down to make the adjustment.http://hellnocancershow.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626ebe8a0baa9---bosch-maxx-lifestyle-front-loader-washing-machine-manual.pdf TC Electronics Flashback x4 is waaaay trickier. So, if you buy this pedal, just keep in mind that you might have to google the correct steps for using the expression pedal the way you would like. In my case, I wanted to use it to increase the level of the delay. In order to do that I had to 1) zero the time on the flashback 2) set pedal to the maximum position and then make adjustments to both the feedback and level to what I want them to be at the maximum position. 3) bring pedal to lowest position, ZERO OUT TIME again, and make adjustments to both the feedback and level to what you want them to be at the lowest position (in my case the level all the way off). LASTLY- use the tap tempo to set the desired timing AND THEN save the settings to the desired switch. It works just fine and has a control for adjusting its range. Though I certainly wouldn't expect it to survive with heavy road use, it works for me and has lasted in my home studio with no issues. This pedal is well loved my some of my colleagues, but I'm not loving the volume curve (with my Kurzweil) or the feel quite as much. I realize this is a different price point--about half the price of the Boss. For a smaller plastic pedal like this, it's great. My first pedal was an M-Audio, which was similar to this, but not as good at this. However, it works OK with my QS6, although the first inch or so produces no sound. After that, it is OK. My old EV-5 works fine with my QS6 and QS7.1. So, i use the old EV-5 on the QS7.1 and the new EV-5 on the QS6. I cannot recommend this pedal for use with an Alesis QS7.1.While this pedal works fine, it is plastic, lightweight, feels fragile, and doesn't instill any confidence that it would withstand the rigors of the road. I will attempt to return it, but barring that, I'll sell it at a loss to someone who just needs an expression pedal in their home our studio.I wish it had a bit more heft but it has solid functionality.https://cashofferoregon.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626ebe9b5db8d---bosch-maxx-lifestyle-instruction-manual.pdfIts amazing and I didn't not realise how useful this pedal is. Depending on the pedal you connect it to you can control any parameter of an effect. So if it was a delay it would be the delay time or the effect level and blend that in. With the Boss GT-001 your able to assign multiple effects together so you could have the delay and the direct mix of an overdrive pedal come in with each effect coming in at different levels. The only issue I had was not with the pedal but setting up the pedal with the Boss GT-001. There are so many options it took a little while to work out how to set the pedal to control the effect or effects I wanted in the way that i wanted. With a little playing around its quite easy to work out.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Roland only make high quality products and they always stand the test of time. Plug the EV-5 straight into a Mini Moog Voyager EB filter control in jack in and your hands free. Fantastic control and there's also an unobtrusive variable range rotary control neatly tucked away on the pedal itself which governs the variable range. Asking this pedal to do the same thing on another synth might mean some digging around. On the Roland JP50 (with out any tweaking) the pedal seems to control both volume and 'Super Natural' sounds resonance at the same time, but if you need it to control just the VCF on all parameters and free up your hands, then I found this on the Roland site. First, you need to connect the EV-5 to one of the foot pedal inputs on the back panel (we will use CTRL1), and assign that input (CTRL1) to a specific MIDI message in the System settings (we will set the pedal to transmit CC06 Data Entry). Press EXIT twice to return to the main screen. Press F1 (EDIT). Press F2 (LIVE SET). Press F3 (EFFECT). Press F1 (MFX1), F2 (MFX2, F3 (MFX3, or F4 (MFX4) to select the MFX you will be using - this is determined by the routing and Layer you are using for this specific effect in your Live Set.www.kappapma.com/userfiles/files/comfortmaker-furnace-parts-manual.pdf Seems a trifle fiddly, I admit, but the Roland JP50 is a complex Synthesizer and I'd definitely works. I've just ordered another EV-5. It just seems absolutely necessary to keep both hands playing when expressing via the VCF and this pedal does just that. Help Us Help You Knowledge Base Search. As I formerly mentioned in this forum I had a poor experience with my Roland EV-5 with a different issue - it caused and emitted a high pitched awful squeal toward the end of the pedal travel when I used it to transition between some effects within a rig. I sent the pedal back to Roland to get it checked out and it checked OK - so I returned the Roland to GC and got the M-Audio EX-P for much less money and the M-Audio has worked perfectly - no squealing weirdness. Bottom line you may want to ditch the Roland and try out the M-Audio, mine has worked great. To work correctly (getting both the Wa and the ah) it must be calibrated in the Eleven Rack as an EP-11 pedal type.U were right, the 11R calibration works better than the manual. Thanks.
