Also I'd rather tap tempo on this then on the GT-100.However it's build better then I had thought originally. As is the case with BOSS I find their products always very well made. Pros: -Sturdy. It has a solid aluminium top, you can stomp on it all day long. So more then what I expected when I opened the box and saw that it's build like this. Worked like a charm. -No power supply. No searching for an empty power supply on stage. I went straight to mapping my effects. -The switches are plastic, but their solid. I actually have to press a bit harder on them cuz sometimes I just tap them too lightly. That being said I think they will last for a looong time. -It's not a battery eater. It'll last you a few shows for sure. -Power indicator if the battery get's low. If you plug a cable into it, the power LED goes on, and it stays on until you pull everything out of it. -No power supply. I know I said this is a pro. It all depends on what you prefer. I'd rather not carry another power supply with me. But some people might prefer that as an alternative to batteries. -Because it's weight is like 470g.The shiner the surface the more it'll slide. For example at home on my wodden floor it slowly moves as I use it. I really like this pedal. It adds the functionality I need to my GT-100. It works great, didn't have to read or document myself on how to get it working. Just got it out of the box, plugged it in an voila. Really well built. But probably it would be better to get the boss looper with 2 pedals RC-30. This solutions is just as big and expensive. I don't like that it only works with a battery and you have to remove the cable to turn off the pedal. This means that you can not turn off the electricity for everything at once but you need to remove this as well. Lets be switch easily between 4 preset setups. Very sturdy feeling. I have dropped it from a short distance and no damage yet. My only request for improvement is that I wish it had a power switch.I don't know how long the battery would last if I forgot to unplug it some night. You can actually use 2 fs6 pedals if you want to use the echoplex feature. I would imagine it would be the same for a DD3. It also has a polarity switch on it so if it doesn't seem to work in the initial switch position, changing the switch to the opposite polarity may fix it. Good luck! I use mine with a cube 60. The actual unit does what it is supposed to, however I feel that it has some major design flaws. My second issue is the indicator lights on each of the two pedals that indicate that the effect is active, do not stay lit. In my case the pedal activates chorus and delay and while strumming an acoustic it is not easy to hear if the delay is on or off. Would have been nice if those lights were illuminated while the effect was active. Again, this thing does what I need it to do, but for the price it should do it a lot better. And there is a slight delay in the right. It may just be that I got the rare lemon pedal. I will be bringing it back to the store. I highly recommend Boss products. I think I was just one of the unlucky ones to get a the rare bad ones. You'll need to buy a cable (stereo cable in my case) which is fine, can be as long as you want. At least this item can be used with other stuff. With the ability to set polarity and go latched or unlatched I can use this puppy on a varity of things made by Alesis, Digitech and other items that allow external pedals. It’s unapologetically long and detailed in the hope it will help others with the same needs. The rc300 has the capacity to assign specific and customisable tasks to external foot switches and expression pedals, and these can be specified and saved to each individual memory preset. In other words, for one song, I might want my foot switch to turn my mic input on or off. The result of so much customisability at the loopstation end of things is that a foot switch has to do an awful lot of work. Unless I missed something, I know of no other unit that provides all the features of the fs6 in one place, and I looked. Pushing ?60, though, this is not cheap for what is ultimately just a foot switch. However, I came to the conclusion that I had to go for it over all the competition for the following reasons. One of the biggest deciding factors was that I couldn’t find another non-latching always closed unit with LEDs. This may sound like a minor point, but given the complexity of my live rig, I need to be able to see at a glance if my settings are on or off. Sounds simple, but getting it wrong could be disastrous in a live siltation. If you only need a toggle for an amp channel, or your rig only has a couple of stompers on it, another option may be fine. For me it’s a deal breaker. The trade-off for having LEDs is that the fs6 is larger than some other options. Obviously, this means pedal board space, which for me is always a consideration. However, this brings me to the first of my two grumbles- It’s battery only. Yep, no 9volt input. I have tested a work around by hooking up a battery adaptor (widely available for a few pounds) to my pedal board power supply, and it works fine, but it means I would have to leave the battery cover off. For now I’m using a Duracell battery, and it’s lasted a good 20 hours and still going strong, but do remember that it will drain power when the connector jack is in. My only other slight grumble is the battery panel is a bit fiddly. Going back to the dimensions of the unit-it’s not that big (think the width of two standard boss stompboxes), and I’m not sure how it could be a lot smaller- it’s important to remember that the fs6 is actually two independent foot switches in one housing. Each side can be set to be latching or non-latching- it really couldn’t be more versatile. The other thing you need to be aware of is what connecting cables you will need. You can either use two jack to jack mono’s, or one jack to jack stereo. Again, the point is that you have a lot of options and your personal set-up will determine what you need. So, am I glad I bought it? Yes. It is a lot of money, but after spending some time with it, I’m happy that that extra outlay has given me the ability to make the most of the rc300’s external controller features. I use my loopstation as the heart of my live setup and I want to wring every last drop of performance out of it- more casual users may get by on less feature-heavy kit. On balance, and putting asside the grumbles about power, I’m very happy with it, and feel that I made the right choice.Unlike some, this can do both, independently, so it'll be in the useful bits box if I decide to upgrade kit it will still be compatible. It is battery powered - as far as I can tell that is only really to operate the lights and the battery will last for ages. It's a bit annoying, as I'd prefer to be able to switch off my pedal setup with a single plug.There's something rather satisfying about disconnecting things from your PC, it makes you more focussed on actually playing your instrument. The pedal works fine, remember having Roland synths, so there is a pedigree. Robust and sturdy, took a little time to work out the back switching, but it now does exactly what I wanted. I think it has more scope than for my purposes: switching Alesis drum banks, starting and stopping etc, and have yet to work out how to stop the annoying automatic fills. The battery is slightly annoying too - you have to unplug leads to kill the power, but a great device. Expensive, but worth it!I am using the pedal with a new Boss DR-01s drum machine. I could have bought a single switch pedal just to do 'stop and start' but it will also do switching and selections on other Boss gear that I use. Very pleased with the item.It's silent in operation so it works for quiet rehearsals and performances. I like the fact it can switch between latch and non-latch as it gives me options with my BeatBuddy drum machine. I would haved liked the option to have a 9v power supply rather than batteries but the batteries seem to last a good while and its less cable etc.Accidentally found out that they slot together to make 1 long pedal.if needed.they also work with boss dr3 drum machine.they can be assigned to do anything you can imagine with both loop station and drum machine.drum and loop can be midi synched to together and can both be controlled by the foot switches.limitless combinations.excellent foot switches.red led let's you know at a glance what's happening.9 volt battery requires lasts months and months.excellent value.well worth every pennyI’ve actually got two of these so that I can trigger two sounds from each of the inputs on the back. Well made and easy to trigger with feet:)Only thing I don't like is that it will not work unpowered and has no external PSU input. Workaround for now is to use a battery to inline socket lead.
