Induction hob Induction tec hnology is now widely recognised as one of the quic kest, safest and most efficient methods of cooking available. It uses an electromagnetic field t o instantly generate heat, giving you the contr ol and responsiveness of gas, but with far mor e energy efficiency. The hob will only operate wit h pans with a ferrous (or magne tic) base. Not e that when boost is selected f or a par ticular zone, the partner zone contributing the power canno t be used. Automatic pan recognition The hob recognises the size of the pan and only heats up the base of the pan and no t the whole zone, saving time and energy. Automatic boil start The cooking zone may be set t o operate at full power f or a period of time before reverting back to a pr e-set power level. Anti-overflow protection If liquid accidently ov er f lows ont o the control panel, the hob will aut omatically switch off allowing you the opportunity to clean up. Small utensil detection If you leav e a ser ving spoon on the induction zone when it is turned on, the hob will not recognise it as being suitable cookware. Recirculating extraction If an outside wall cannot be reac hed the extract or can be set up for recirculating. Air is drawn int o the appliance through the filters t o neutralise odours and remove grease particles. The cleaned air is then returned t o the kitchen. A carbon filter or recirculating kit is necessary for recirculation (optional accessory). Recirculating kit Contains a carbon filter and any o ther necessar y components to ensur e that odour free air is re tur ned into t he kitchen. T o ensure that the hood performance is maintained, the carbon filter should be replaced on a regular basis. Metal filter A metal filter pro vides the ultimate in filtering efficiency. The dishwasher -proof metal mesh requir es periodic cleaning but can be used over and ov er again. Paper grease filter The print and stripe markings darken considerably when the disposable paper filter is saturat ed to indicate that it needs replacing. Many hood models also feature an int ensive extraction setting, which gives an e xtra boost to the per formance of the hood when r equired. After running The hood automatically continues t o run on, for appro x ten minut es, af ter normal operation to ensur e that any remaining vapours and odours are effectivel y whisked a way. The hood then automatically switches off.
