Turn the gas off, just in case, but you won't be opening any gas lines. Once the top is off you should have access to the wiring on the components in the facia. Take the pan stands and burners off. You should find screws holding the top down there. There may also be more on the rear or sides, check for them. Unfortunately, I'm not there to see your machine so I can't advise on that. As your machine is different to what I'm seeing on the parts list and different to the ones I've worked on, I'll opt out of the question and open it to all again. See if anyone has come across the model that needs the gas pipes disconnected.
