There are two options for the waste water connection, depending on the plumbing within your home. You can connect to a normal stand pipe which should be at least 30cm high to ensure that no waster water will re-enter the appliance but lower than the height of the appliance itself. Use the holder supplied to secure the waste water pipe into position. 4. Alternatively you can attach the waste water pipe to a connection underneath the sink. Under the sink you'll see the waste connections for the appliance. These are called traps and there are a number of different types. Check there are no kinks in the pipe and connect the waste water pipe to the trap securely. 5. Bosch washing machines will plug into a standard socket. Switch the appliance on, run a rinse programme and check for any leaks. If none are found, push the appliance into it's final position. Unless it is a return-to-shop type of product, the salesperson most likely has little to none information regarding the reliability as they probably never see the machine again once sold. I was at HN the other week and the guy was fantastic. Went through every single brand with the good and bad points and didn't try and push a single model. He did say he personally owned a Miele, but not once did he try and force the brand. The salesperson was a big fan of Asko due to their design not having a rubber seal around the door frame like every other machine. They use a different seal that is smaller and attaches around the glass door. The reviews on Asko haven't given me much confidence though.
