The unit is working for the shower (just) where there is a separate hot tap, but not for the mixer taps in the kitchen or bathroom. I have tried a reset but can only get it going for the shower. However if you turn on the cold water in the shower too much the hot water cuts out. Not much fun when its only 4 degrees outside. I wonder whether it is a low water pressure problem or heat exchanger in the unit itself. The unit is more than 6 years old but in good condition. Highest temp set at 55, but can be adjusted by mains controller. When turned on for the first time in the morning the red light comes on and the water starts to warm up, but after a few seconds the red light starts to flash followed by the number 16. This is followed by the unit and the water flow cutting out. We do this a couple of times and the unit works ok, but the temp fluctuates.http://dioceseofniranam.org/userfiles/bosch-oven-manuals-online.xml

Because the house has been vacant from time to time we turned off the gas bottle and turned them on when we were there and it worked ok. However, last time we turned them on the hot water service did not come on. There may be no hot water service due to the gas or water supply valves not being fully open. Initially the system didn’t seem to be working, so I think I’ve reset it, which seemed to prompt it to fire up and start delivering hot water. However, now it seems to want to shut off after a minute or two post each reset meaning the hot water isn’t on long enough to actually make use of it. Can you help? It is a YS2170RA5. Like Share More 2 answers Chris 1 year ago You don't say what the temperature is. Hot water temperature coming out of the heater should be 55?C. There are no knobs on the heater to adjust that, a controller allows you to set a lower temperature than 55?C. You can change a jumper setting within the heater to reset the temperature to 65?C but you need to consult the manual to do that. If the water is not hot enough, you'll need to check if the gas and water supply valves are fully open. Please note that the YS2170RA5 is a 50 degree limited unit, the temperature at all hot water outlets will not exceed this temperature. Like Share More 6 answers Ken 7 1 year ago Forgot to mention the heater is a Bosch 21E Like Report Chris 1 year ago I don't know the minimum flow rate but your detail is interesting. Having to run another tap is interesting - are you on mains water or a tank with a pump. You don't mention whether the problem occurs when adding cold water to the mix. May I suggest adding a controller, either a Bosch MAIN CONTROLLER YPRM67XBN or the similar Bathroom Controller YPRS67XBN. They connect with 2 low tension wires so you should be able to install it yourself. With a controller, you select the water temperature required (55?C down to 38?C). The cold water tap is not needed to adjust the shower temperature. This means not having to turn on the cold water that may affect the hot water flow. Like Report Ken 7 1 year ago G'day Chris, we are on mains, we don't use much hot water in the shower, a bit more than a trickle, and we turn on the hot first, then use both taps to regulate the temperature. The main controller sounds interesting. I'm looking into them if I can't get any satisfaction here. We might just be using too little hot water to activate the ignition. Lesley Like Report Rod T. asked 10 months ago Electronic Highflow 26e Hi I have a bosch 26e highflow. Its been in about 5 years.Over the last year it periodically does not heat the water. I thought it might be a air lock in the gas as the unit switches itself off. I run the stove top to check the gas which seems OK and then I have been turning the unit off at the power supply and it seems to reset it and it works fine for 4 or 5 weeks. Then the problem starts again. It is now turning itself off when I turn the shower on.It also seems like when the basin is running it only has heat coming out of 1 side of the flue. Is this unit 2 stage. It has never been serviced but assume the only serviceable piece is the water filter. Do you know of a common fault with these symptoms? and the fix? I have seen lots of posts with the same issue. It is at a stage where I don't want to spend money trying to fix it when a new unit is a better alternative. I also noticed when looking for a bosch replacement unit is that you have changed your models to optiflow can you still but the Highflow. Will the Optiflow fit into the Highflow recessed wall box. Someone has already answered this question in earlier posts. As Chris mentioned, this is a common issue when changing over to a new LPG bottle due to the interruption in the gas supply. The unit essentially needs a reset as it has shut down as a safety precaution (it will make multiple attempts to ignite before doing so). Reset instructions are as follows: 1. Turn the hot water tap that's closest to your hot water unit on full and leave it running. 2. Go to your unit and turn the cold water inlet off (this is usually the second valve from the left underneath your unit). 3. Turn the power point to the hot water unit off and wait for around a minute. 4. Turn the power point to the unit back on and turn the cold water inlet back on. After these steps are completed, please check your hot water tap to see if the restart has been successful.
