I used a device that connects both my old fashioned keyboard and mouse connectors to one USB male connector and connected that to the first female USB port on the switch. I then turned on my first computer. It booted up and worked until I tried to open a program. The first computer, which is very old, soon indicated that it had to reboot to finish installing the new hardware. I gave permission to reboot, and after rebooting it worked fine. After the first computer booted up, I turned on the second newer computer. It booted up and did not need to restart to finish installing the new hardware. I was able to switch back and forth between the two computers using the buttons on the switch. Everything seems to be working as expected. I have not tried anything with the other USB ports on the switch. I am not using switch ports PC3 and PC4. Both computers are Windows 7 desk tops.Giving me the impression it was cheaply made.
