For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance. For an optical system in air, the effective focal length (f and f?) gives the distance from the front and rear principal planes (H and H?) to the corresponding focal points (F and F?). A 3x zoom ratio changes the camera's focal length by a factor of three, from 35 mm to 105 mm for example. The VGA (D-Sub) connector is a 15 pin connector between a computer and a monitor. It was first introduced in 1987 by IBM. Only when I connect a S-Video cable or a USB, I?m getting image. I have restored the equipment to manufacture defaults and the issue persist. On your first concern, a possible reason for the 'Sync is out of range' is because your laptop's resolution is just too high for the projector to handle. You may have to manually lower down your screen resolution (right click on a clear area of your desktop, click on properties, settings tab, move bar of screen resolution towards the left). Try different settings that will give you best performance without the projector rejecting the input signal. Am not sure about your second concern though, offhand your description sounds like video noise. You may have to check that your connectors are firmly plugged in. A longshot is to remove any possible source of interference like wireless phones including your mobile, WiFi AP and the likes. Perhaps you give the first suggestion a try and see if the purple dots disappear when you have the projector running ok. Further you may have to reset your projector if it's got one. Normally it's a small button clearly marked RESET somewhere at the rear of the unit. Hope this works out for you. Good luck and kind regards. Thanks for using Fixya ! Is there a fuse required. Make sure you handle the buld with cotton gloves (oil from hands not good) Let me know if that works. Login to post Both desktop and laptop computers are capable of connecting to a TV or projector, provided that they have the appropriate cables. The following sections contain instructions for using your TV or projector as a computer monitor. For best results, we recommend reading them in order. Identifying available connections Connecting computer and projector or TV Display using Desktop Display using Laptop I don't see an image on my TV screen Identifying available connectionsOnce the matching port has been identified (one that is the same on both your input device and output device ), you need the appropriate cable to connect them. This section contains a picture of the back of an Epson projector and its available connection ports; as well as descriptions of each. In fact, nearly all modern televisions and projectors feature HDMI ports. Most laptop computers support HDMI and it is becoming more prevalent on both desktop as well; even without a high-end video card. HDMI is quickly becoming the standard for all electronic equipment for its high quality signal and ability to carry both audio and video signals. The image to the right is that of an HDMI cable. The VGA cable has a 15-pin connector on each end that plugs into a VGA port on each device. Due to the fact that most televisions do not support VGA, we recommend using HDMI for their wider range of compatibility. For example, the if your desktop monitor that uses a VGA cable it, that same cable can be used by a laptop to connect it to a projector. Note: If you are using an Apple desktop or laptop you need a VGA adapter to connect a VGA cable to the computer. DVI The DVI connection is newer than VGA and it offers a sharper image. Although the DVI port is not shown on the Epson model above, it is still somewhat common for projectors, not so much for televisions. It is mostly found among desktop computers for monitors, but some laptops have DVI connections as well (Apple laptops are more commonly known to support DVI than any other brand of laptop). Since finding DVI on a TV or projector is more difficult, we again recommend using HDMI cables. Tip: There are special cables that convert from DVI to VGA or DVI to HDMI and vice versa. This connection is the yellow female cable on what is normally a three bundle of red, white, and yellow. The only time you should see this setup is on older video cards for desktop computers. S-Video The S-Video connection is also commonly found on TVs and projectors, but solemnly on a desktop or laptop computer. This connection is a small step up from composite video, but is nearing obsolescence. Connecting computer and projector or TVIf the same connections are not available for both the computer and TV or projector, you'll need to purchase a video converter cable that converts one signal into a compatible signal. Desktop ComputersIf you don't see an image, you may need to change the display using the following steps. Additional help and information with switching the laptop display can also be found on the link below. This action can be accomplished by pressing the input button on your TV remote until the correct image is displayed. We supply original projector parts: lamp, bulb, Lcd panel, Lens, DMD chip, color wheel, motherboard, powersupply.Lampdeng Limited JerryDo you use windows xp or 7To do this, Right click on desktop and select video setting or the control panel of whatever video card you have. If you can set up an extended desktop, it is here that you'll be able to do it.I was also told that by doing this along with having the display shown only through the projector (instead of it being mirrored on both displays) should negate any problems. ThanxThe one additional problem you may encounter is the fact that the projector will display an area to the right of your laptop screen. In other words, move your mouse past the right edge on laptop screen. Look at projector image. See your mouse? Basically this part has 4 small mirrors facing each other and this normally happens when one of the mirrors come loose. Very cheap to repairAnswer questions, earn points and help others.
