It does not tighten or stay in place as well as the original. Definitely not worth anything even close to the price I paid. Beyond disappointed.I needed the replacement thumbscrews but couldn't find any. I tried replacing the entire headband assembly with the newer Speedglas headband but it will NOT fit. I am a union Ironworker out of local 29 in Portland, Or.This is my 4th hood. My 3rd one I had only about a year before it died. There is a lemon in every batch. I won’t let one faulty filter stop me from buying more. These hoods are very durable and that is why I use them. Plus I’m very happy they brought back the 9000 hood. Now all Speedgas has to do is make the 3-11 shade utility filter to fit this hood.For a change I switched to a different brand, that was supposed to be better, but it didn't last more than 6 months. Now I feel like I'm back in the game. This new Speedglass helmet is great, lightweight and as described. The shade is adjustable, the arc delay is perfect for the eyes. Also I get an ample view of the workpiece and a clear view of the weld puddle. The ratchet is kinda new to me but it feels good. No pressure on my forehead. Worth the money.It’s really light, the lens is perfectly responsive and as good as their more expensive models as far as it’s performance. Their are bigger lenses out their and that’s always nice.Absolutely love it. The field of vision and clarity are the best of any helmet I've ever used.
